TEAM DURANGO® SPOTLIGHT
RILEY WEBB | PROFESSIONAL TIE-DOWN ROPER
Riley Webb has been around the sport of rodeo his entire life. A member of Team Durango® and a proud wearer of our boots since early 2020, Riley has seen a lot of success competing in open and amateur tie-down roping events in recent years, winning almost $150,000 in our boots. He was also named the National High School Rodeo Association Tie-Down Champion in 2020. Having recently turned 18, Riley will now compete at PRCA events and pursue his goals as a professional tie down roper. He was kind enough to speak with us about his introduction to the Rodeo lifestyle as well as the ups and downs of the sport in the video below.
“It’s a very humbling sport. Some days you can be the best, some days you can be at the very, very lowest…You’ve just got to take one day at a time and do the best you can.”

RILEY TALKS ABOUT THE
Riley’s parents worked rodeos and calf ropings during his childhood, bringing him along for the first time at just a week old. He got involved in tie-down roping at a young age and took to the sport quickly. When asked about what set him up for success in the sport, Riley said “I always had a rope in my hand 24/7, so I think that’s what helped me a lot. Like, handling my rope and you know, roping the dummy, roping goats, roping calves, whatever I could rope.” He made it clear that he was meant to be a roper, saying “I’ve just been blessed with the god-given talent to be able to do it. I just picked up on it and I always wanted to do it since I was a little kid.”
While Riley has had a lot of success in the sport of tie-down roping, it isn’t always easy. Riley stated “It’s a very humbling sport. Some days you can be the best, some days you can be at the very, very lowest.” Not one to be discouraged easily, he continues “You’ve just got to take one day at a time and do the best you can.”
