ABOUT ZEKE
Alberta, Canada native, Zeke Thurston is no rookie to the rodeo. The adrenaline of the rodeo runs
through his veins. His father, Skeeter, qualified for the Canadian Finals Rodeo five times in his
career and attended the NFR six times. At a very young age, he and his brothers (Wyatt and Sam)
were part of the Thurston Gang, a team who mastered their roping skills, horseback acrobatics and
stunts. Zeke retired from the gang and entered the professional rodeo circuit, where he won the
steer riding at the Canadian Finals Rodeo at only 14 years old. He furthered his education at
Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario and rode for the Sheridan College Rodeo program from fall
2012 until spring 2014, won his 4th PRCA world championship in the saddle bronc riding event,
and 2nd in a row, at the 2023 National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Today, Thurston resides
in Big Valley, Alberta with his wife Jane and their three children. When not competing, Thurston can
be found ranching, roping, deer hunting and fishing, as well as playing amateur hockey.
